Grandview Island Hampton, VA | Devlin Family Farewell Session

The Devin Family says goodbye to Virginia today and embarks on a new adventure as they move to Texas. I met up with Jenn and Randy and their two girls before they packed their bags to leave their home on Grandview Island in Hampton, VA. It’s a bittersweet farewell leaving so many wonderful friends and a beautiful home by the beach behind. On the other hand they are excited for this new chapter of their lives living in Texas.

I’ve known Jenn since we were both collegiate members of Pi Beta Phi at Old Dominion University. Pi Phi brought us together and the bonds of sisterhood gave us a friendship that lasted beyond college. We’ve experienced weddings, new homes, and babies together since then. She was one of the first families that I ever photographed back when I was just thinking of starting a business. I’ve had the honor of photographing her family multiple times since then and I always appreciate her support for my business.

Jenn had a fun idea to do a “Beach to Boots” theme for their farewell photo session. I love that we captured memories at their home and their favorite spot on the beach with the Grandview Island tree. We also incorporated the Texas flag and cowboy boots that signified their move to Texas. We ended the evening with the family riding around their golf cart, a must-have mode of transportation on the island.

I know that we, along with their friends and family and neighbors, will miss the Devlin family immensely! We wish them the best in this next chapter and we know it isn’t really “Good-Bye”, but “See Ya’ll Later!”. We love you Jenn, Randy, Morgan, and Addie! We can’t wait to see what adventure awaits in Texas!! Safe travels!
