Back last fall, Steven and I started attending story time at our local library. I hadn’t considered going before, because the advertised age was 3 and up. One day checking out books, I asked about the age restriction and they said that younger kids were welcome.
I was so excited. It was something we could get out and do and a great way for Steven to get some social time with kids around his age. We love story time. We get to hear books read, sing songs and do silly dances, and make some fun crafts. Steven was a little nervous the first few times we attended story time. After a few times he started to get more comfortable and really enjoy himself. At first he wouldn’t dance or participate, now he is quite a ham and loves dancing all over the place.
Part of the reason he loves story time so much is because of Miss Katie, our children’s librarian. She is so good with the kids. She is soft spoken and awesome with the kids. We look forward to seeing her each week. I love that we can attend such a fun activity for free and close to home. We don’t have a lot of activities for little ones in our area, so story time is perfect. Here are a few photos I took back in the spring. There are some pretty funny ones of Steven enjoying his favorite song, I Know a Chicken by The Laurie Berkner Band. He loves doing “shaky egg” as we call it!
Love his little “duck tail”!
