I am so excited about this session. I have been wanting to do a lifestyle session forever. I love the idea of going to a family’s home and capturing their life in a real, every day, natural setting. The Buchheit family was sweet enough to allow me to come see how their lives have changed now that they have two more precious boys. I went to their home in Suffolk and captured everything from snuggles to diaper changes. It was beautiful!
I love the idea of lifestyle sessions. Capturing life as it really is. The natural way a family interacts. I know we all want that one posed photo where everyone is looking at the camera and smiling. But my favorites are the precious moments when a mom is snuggling her kids or a dad is playing with his child. Those are real and so beautiful.
This session was just wonderful. Jen and I have known each other since high school and we are sorority sisters. We got married at the same time and her oldest son Joseph is about a year younger than my son Steven. She was the first person to even let me practice taking photos. I took photos of Joseph when he was just two weeks old. I’ll be the first to admit they were horrible. I had no idea what I was doing. Now two years later, I’m still learning, but the photos are so much better.
Jen and Ryan have a pretty amazing story. They had their first son on the same day as Jen’s sister had her first little girl. Then two years later, they welcomed twins, Ethan and Evan, on Joseph’s birthday. That’s four grandchildren with the exact same birthday. Pretty awesome!
Thank you so much to Jen, Ryan, Joseph and those sweet babies for allowing me to come capture their real life with three boys. It was so relaxed being in their home and just allowing them to do life pretty normally. This is definitely where my heart lies with photography. I want my style to reflect a more lifestyle feel. Whether its outside, at a home, a park, or wherever, I want my photos to show how families really love and live. I can’t wait to grow my business more in this area! Thank you so much to the Buchheit family for helping me take this first amazing step in this direction!
