This summer has been amazing. Hands down the best I’ve had since I started my photography business fours years ago. I have loved every session and all of the new and returning families have been so wonderful. So many beach sessions in one summer. It’s been a dream come true! And I love getting to shoot at the gorgeous Fort Boykin beach in Smithfield, VA. It’s so nice to have a beautiful spot like this one without having to drive to the oceanfront.

I met the Wilson family out at Fort Boykin last weekend. Erin had contacted me for her family photos and then it worked out that her parents and sister and husband were able to join them. I love getting entire families together to capture such precious memories. Grandparents with grandchildren, aunts and uncles with their nieces and nephews, generations together. It is so wonderful and so worth it. I know getting photos isn’t always everyone’s favorite thing to do, especially for the guys, let’s be honest. But once they get the photos and they can look at them hanging on the wall or on their desk, they will be so glad they did.
