Richmond Family Session | Windsor Castle Park Smithfield Family Photographer

Usually this time of year I don’t get many requests for photo sessions. Typically, I’m done by the time December gets here. Every once in awhile I’ll have someone ask for photos during the wintertime.  Becky contacted me for her family photos and wanted to schedule them during the Christmas break.  I was a little hesitant since December in Virginia can be so unpredictable. Just this week we had temperatures below 0 and now they are up to 70 degrees. You really just never know what you are going to get. We made a plan though and put aside several dates over the break.  That way we could choose the one that had the best weather forecast.

Although it was still chilly, it wasn’t unbearable the day Becky and her two boys met me at Windsor Castle Park in Smithfield for their family photos. We had chatted about being well prepared with gloves and warm blankets. They were troopers and the chilly weather provided the perfect reason for lots of hugs and snuggling up close. The boys were so great and we all had a great time. I’m so happy I was able to capture some sweet memories for Becky and her sons while they were together for the holidays. Thank you all for braving the cold and being awesome. I hope you all enjoyed the wonderful snow days you got to enjoy just a few days after.
