Thank goodness we are finally getting some warmer days here and there. I truly wish they would stay and the winter weather would just be over. Last weekend we had gorgeous weather for the McFarland family’s session at Windsor Castle Park. We had already rescheduled from a previous date due to unfavorable weather. I was so happy when we had a warm, golden evening for Winter and her three children to get some updated family photos.

I met Winter through my friend Jen when she was baby Joshua’s at home nurse. Jen and Joshua have temporarily moved up to Boston for his care during the transplant process. You can read more about their story here. I was so honored when Winter asked if I would take her own family photos. She’d seen a lot of my work displayed in Jen’s home, which is always so flattering and humbling.

Winter has three beautiful children, all with their own unique personalities. They are around the pre-teen and teenager years and photos are probably not their most favorite thing in the world. Despite this, they were so polite and did a great job for me. I love getting to meet new families and figure out their dynamics. What works for one family during a session doesn’t necessarily work for another. But this keeps what I do fresh and challenging.
