We are well into fall here in Virginia. It’s been chilly and we’ve even had frost. Fall seems to be short with Winter close on it’s heels. But at the end of September I had one last chance to get my toes in the sand. I met the Glass family down in Virginia Beach for their family session. I love getting to see families year after year and capture their lives as they grow and change.

Photographing families at the beach is probably one of my favorite locations.  The salt air, the waves, the sand, it just surrounds you with peace and joy. I think it really makes us all feel lighter. After we’ve captured all the main photos for the session I love to get the family to have fun just playing together. Whether it’s playing in the sand or in the water, these photos are some of my favorites.

I am definitely looking forward already to next summer and being able to photograph more families on the beach. For now though, here are some of my favorites from the Glass family’s session.
