Oak Grove Lake Park | Herlong Family Fall Session

October is typically my busiest month of the year. And it’s no secret why. Fall photos are very popular with families, seniors, and couples. The weather is changing and it’s usually pleasant. Also, the light is just gorgeous. It’s something about that October light that is just delicious!

This fall has be so unusual with having to take the entire month of October off to recover from my pacemaker surgery. It’s been hard seeing the beautiful sunsets and golden hours and feeling the cooler weather and not getting to shoot sessions that I had previously scheduled. But I’m also learning that a season of rest, even if forced, is good. I’m getting to soak in these evenings for myself, with my family. I love getting to watch the sunset at home with them and feel the cool evening air. I miss being behind the camera for sure, but I’m learning to appreciate this gift of rest.

This season of rest is also allowing me to catch up on blogging sessions as well. Being busy with photo sessions I’ve fallen behind on blog posts. So I figured I would start with last year and work my way forward.

Last fall I had the honor of working the the fun and beautiful Herlong family again. This family always makes me laugh and they are just a joy to work with and be around. The fall rains had left Oak Grove Lake Park a little soggy, but we made it work. Here are some of my favorites from our session last fall.
