I have to say, cotton field sessions are becoming one of my favorites. I love shooting at the beach during the summer, but for the fall, cotton fields are just beautiful. And what better setting for the Alphin family than a cotton field. This family has long been connected to cotton and it is a huge part of their life. I love that they wanted to incorporate it into their session. It’s always fun when families choose locations that are a part of their personal story.

I’ve known this family since I was a child, growing up going to school with their daughter Kerri. I met Lauren, her sister-in-law through soccer last year and we attend the same church. It really is funny how small the world is. Even though it was a bit chilly on the day of our session, this sweet family brought all the warmth and light we needed.  We were so happy that it wasn’t raining and the sun even tried to peek out a few times.  They shared lots of laughs, snuggles, and kisses. Especially all of those handsome grandsons, they had lots of laughs and silliness to share!
