Glass family session Windsor Castle Park | Smithfield family photographer

Fall is a wonderful time for family photos. The light is gorgeous and the leaves are so full of color. But the weather can be so unpredictable here in Virginia. One day it can be 70 degrees and sunny, the next it’s 40 degrees and rainy. Thankfully, we were finally able to find a day for the Glass family to have their photo session after having to reschedule twice due to unfavorable weather. It was even sprinkling a little bit that morning as we arrived at Windsor Castle Park in Smithfield. But thankfully it moved off and we were able to have some cool, dry weather for their family photos.

This is the second time I’ve gotten to work with this sweet family, but the first time with them being a family of four. Little Miss Taylor definitely made me work for it. But that’s the fun in being a family photographer. Kids just don’t put on a smile and pose because you want them to. They make you act silly and do crazy stuff just for one smile. And I don’t mind one little bit.

Especially now that I have a little girl of my own, I know all about a little girl’s prerogative. Come picture day they will want their mama and only give you a smile for a second or when you give them the freedom they desire with every ounce of their being. You gotta love that wild and free girl spirit. Big brother Andrew was a champ and totally rocked the smiles and played with his sister and did everything we asked.

Thank you so much to the Glass family for allowing me to capture some of these wild and fun and beautiful moments of your life.
