So I took a little social media break for Lent and it was so refreshing. Not having to worry about posting or blogging for a few weeks. After having finished my 365 challenge I needed a break. I did not take a break from sessions though and that means I have some beautiful photos to share with you all.  First, will be some gorgeous pre-deployment and anniversary photos I shot in Virginia Beach, VA.

A few weeks ago I was honored to spend some time with the beautiful and sweet Daniel family. Austin was preparing to ship out in just a few days and he and Erin had just recently celebrated 15 years of marriage. A perfect time for updating family photos. Well except that it was March in Virginia. That could mean 70 degrees or much colder. We got the 40s and since it was on the beach it was a little windy. But we made the best of it and the love this family shares was more than enough to keep them warm.

Erin is just the sweetest person. She takes all of our family photos and we just love her. When she asked me to take her own family’s photos, I was beyond flattered. It is always a little nerve-wracking taking another photographers photos, especially their family photos. But the Daniel family is just a dream. Their kids were awesome and so easy to work with. It may have a little something to do with their mama being a photographer and so they are well rehearsed. 🙂

I have been thinking of the Daniel family so much knowing their hearts are heavy not having their family together. I can’t imagine the hardships that military families face especially during deployments. Thank you so much Austin for your service to our country. I often think about how wonderful it is to live in a free country, but more often than not I take it for granted. Thank you Erin too and your children for your service as well. You may not be service members, but being their family, their support system, that is serving our country as well. Thank you all! And thank you for choosing me for your pre-deployment and family photos. I am truly honored.
