I love getting to photograph new families. Even if they are friends of mine, but I’ve never taken their photos, it’s a whole new experience when I put on my photographer hat. I had the honor of capturing some updated family photos for the beautiful and sweet Szymanski family this past fall. We met up at Oak Grove Lake Park in Chesapeake, VA just as the golden hour was starting.

I think we can all agree that 2018 was a very rainy year. I had many sessions that had to be rescheduled due to rain or possibly bad weather. Some sessions had to be rescheduled several times, including the Szymanski’s. Thankfully we finally got a perfect day with gorgeous sunlight and favorable temperatures. Perfect for getting some updated family photos of their precious family.

I had a wonderful time getting to know Melissa, David, Rylin, and Emersyn a little more during our time together. Rylin and I got to chat a lot about fish, since fishing is one of his absolute favorite hobbies. I think he thought he was going to stump me about the topic, but when I started reeling off facts that I knew (I studied Ichthyology in college) I think he might have been impressed a little. And sweet Emersyn is a typical two year old with a whole lot of energy and a wild and free spirit. But she is just too sweet and loved snuggling and giving kisses to her mama and daddy.

Thank you so much Szymanski family for allowing me to capture some beautiful memories for you all. I know you all cherish these more than most. It was truly an honor to work with you all and I cannot wait to work with you all again in the future!
