Fort Boykin Beach, Smithfield, VA | Holland Family Session

This summer has been my busiest I think since I started my business in 2013. Summer can sometimes be a tough season to shoot in. Here in Virginia the weather can be all over the place. We can have gorgeous 80 degree days and then days where the heat index is over 100. Storms can pop up out of nowhere or threaten and never show up.

When I met up with the Holland and Hlinovsky families it was a hot one. Being at Fort Boykin beach in Smithfield there isn’t much shade. The park itself has lots of shade, but not the beach on the James River. We decided to start with the shade and then make our way down to the beach.

I love sessions with multiple generations. Seeing grandparents and grandchildren together is wonderful. And knowing that they will cherish these photos for years to come, it’s such an honor to capture these precious memories.

If you and your family have been wanting to get updated photos don’t wait. Let’s capture some memories together. Thank you Holland and Hlinovsky family for allowing me to photograph your beautiful family.
