Summer is definitely my favorite season and I love getting to go to the beach. I’m so lucky that I have wonderful families that want photos on the beach. A few years ago I started photographing families at the Little Island Pier in Sandbridge. It is so beautiful down there. It reminds me of the Outer Banks in North Carolina where my family likes to vacation.

The Thorogood family was so much fun to meet and work with. I’m so thankful that weather held out for us. We went back and forth so much because the weather was just so unpredictable. We almost moved the session into a studio, but at the last minute it seemed like we could make the beach happen. And we did!

Although it was cloudy and windy and definitely not perfect beach weather, this family brought all the sunshine and warmth. They were truly a joy to hang out with. They laughed and joked and we had a great time. And they were so patient. These are the types of families that I just love! We only get a short time together during our session, but when we feel comfortable it makes it so much fun!
